On Monday 27th January , Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11 KTI students had an incredible opportunity to spend some time at school with 2 horses from Second Chance Horse Rescue, a local organization dedicated to rehabilitating rescued horses. This was both educational and hands-on, allowing students to learn about horse care, grooming, and the rehabilitation process.
During this activity, the students interacted with the horses under the guidance of experienced volunteers and of Ms Ann Marie Micallef a teacher at our school and a volunteer at this NGO. The students found the experience both therapeutic and eye-opening, gaining a deeper appreciation for the hard work and dedication involved in rescuing, retiring and caring for these magnificent animals.
The was not only a fun activity but also a valuable lesson in empathy, responsibility, and teamwork. KTI looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Second Chance Horse Rescue, fostering more learning opportunities while supporting a great cause. At the end of this activity, the Head of School Mr Bernardo Riolo presented a monetary donation to this NGO.
