As part of the European and Global Money Week, on Thursday 20th March a group of Year 10 KTI students visited the HSBC Hub in Santa Venera for an educational session on banking technology. This was coordinated by the Home Economics Seminar Centre (HESC) in collaboration with the Malta Bankers’ Association (MBA). The visit provided students with valuable insights into the use of ATMs and bank cards, highlighting their importance in modern financial transactions. During the session, HSBC representatives explained how ATMs function, including cash withdrawals, deposits, and balance inquiries. Students also learned about different types of bank cards, their security features, and responsible usage. The hands-on experience gave them a better understanding of digital banking and financial literacy. The visit was an enriching opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, preparing them for a more financially aware future.
