🎄 Christmas Baking and Card Competition 🍰🧁
🇬🇧 Last Wednesday, our school held a Christmas Baking and Card Competition, where students prepared their entries at home and proudly brought them to school. We were delighted to see a good number of participants take part in the event. Each entry reflected great enthusiasm, creativity, and effort, with students showcasing impressive artistic flair and culinary skills. The competition truly captured the joyful spirit of Christmas and was a wonderful celebration of talent and creativity.
🇲🇹 Il-ġimgħa l-oħra saru l-kompetizzjonijiet tat-tisjir tal-ħelu tal-Milied u tal-isbaħ kartolina tal-Milied. L-istudenti ppreparaw ix-xogħol tagħhom id-dar u ġabuh l-iskola. Kien hemm numru sabiħ ta’ parteċipanti li ħadu sehem f’din l-attività. Kull student wera entużjażmu kbir, kreattività u impenn. Permezz ta’ dawn il-kompetizzjonijiet l-istudenti setgħu juru l-ħiliet artistiċi u kulinarji tagħhom. Matul dan il-jum, stajna nħossu l-ispirtu sabiħ tal-Milied u kienet ċelebrazzjoni mill-isbaħ ta’ talent u kreattività.

🇬🇧 The Houses Quiz on European Christmas Traditions was a fun and educational activity where students learned how different countries across Europe celebrate Christmas. Participants explored unique customs, foods, decorations, and traditions from various European cultures while working together as a team.

🎃Halloween Table Decorating Competition🦇
🇬🇧 Last Thursday, we held the Houses’ Halloween Best Table Decoration Competition. Many students took part and put in great effort to create original and eye-catching table designs. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and positive energy.
First place was awarded to the 🥇 Yellow House 🟡, followed closely by the 🥈 Green House 🟢, while the 🥉 Blue House 🔵 secured third place.
We also held a pumpkin carving competition, where students showcased their talent by creating spooky and imaginative pumpkin designs. Their creativity and originality truly stood out.

News from the basketball court – last season’s finalists go head to head in the upcoming Basketball Super Cup. The 🔵 Blues take on the Greens 🟢 in what will surely be an exciting match!
Both teams have already begun their preparations, both on the pitch as well as inside the court, in order to ensure they take their respective cups home!
The rest of the Houses’ sports teams are not resting on their laurels, as everyone is aiming high this season. Prepations are already underway as everyone wants to end this season with their House colour on top of the league table!

🍦Starting the Year with a Bang! 👟
🇬🇧 On Friday, 26th September, the Student Council treated everyone to something sweet, bringing in two ice-cream trucks, Melt and Ta’ Skutu, so students could enjoy some delicious ice cream.
In collaboration with the Houses, the Student Council also hosted a series of fun and exciting team-building activities. The event was filled with laughter, energy, and teamwork, perfectly reflecting our school motto:
“Nothing but the best!”

This year marked the first time we introduced the House system at our school, and what an incredible journey it has been!

Last week, we celebrated Earth Day with a special initiative organized by the House Committee. As part of the event, a school-wide competition was held, showcasing our students’ creativity through impressive posters and innovative projects. Lisa Giordmaina from class 9.1 secured first place with her outstanding project. Aurora Vella (9.1) and Maria G. Tagliaferro (9.4) tied for second place, each presenting powerful posters aligned with the Earth Day theme. This initiative, along with the Wasteserv talks, played an important role in raising students’ awareness about protecting our planet.

🐣 EASTER COMPETITION 🐰
On the last day before the Easter recess, the Houses committee held an Easter competition for Year 9 and 10 students, featuring two categories: ‘Figolla decoration’ and ‘Easter crafts’. It was a close contest, with Emily Attard (10.3) winning the figolla category and Lisa Giordmaina (9.1) winning the craft category. The students enjoyed showcasing their creativity and talent, and the school is very proud of their efforts.
🔴🏆CUP OF HOUSES – FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS! ⚽️🔴
The Reds are crowned champions of the Football League after a hard fought match.The Red house managed to score the only goal of the game through Ike Muscat’s strike in the first half. The blues fought hard to grab the equaliser but were denied by a great performance from Juan Aquilina. A man of the match performance by Benjamin Borg helped the Reds to win the cup. Well done to both teams for a highly contested match.
YEAR 11 GOZO OUTING
Today, the top three students from each house enjoyed a fun-filled outing at Shoreline in Kalkara. The day kicked off with an exciting photo hunt that saw students engaged in a spirited competition, with the winning group receiving a small token of appreciation.
Afterwards, students explored the games area, where many chose to enjoy the trampoline while others had a blast in the arcade. It was a memorable experience filled with fun and laughter for everyone involved.
YEAR 11 GOZO OUTING
The top Year 11 students, based on their house points, had an exciting day out in Gozo. The day started in Rabat, where they had some time to shop.
Next, they took part in a fun treasure hunt in Gharb. Split into teams, the students solved clues and completed tasks that took them around the village.
After the treasure hunt, the group headed to Xlendi Bay for lunch.
It was a day full of fun, teamwork, and relaxation—an outing that the students will remember.
🎭👹 CARNIVAL COMPETITION 👺🪅
The Houses carnival competition is underway, featuring two exciting categories: floats and masks. Participants have showcased their creativity with stunning and imaginative designs, making this year’s event truly spectacular. The competition kicked off today, and students have until Friday to cast their votes for their favourite entries. With so many incredible creations on display, the competition is sure to be fierce!

OUTING FOR THE TOP STUDENTS FROM EACH HOUSE
On a beautiful, sunny day, our school organized a hiking outing for the top students from each House. The group explored the scenic countryside of Bingemma, enjoying the fresh air and stunning views. At noon, we stopped in Mgarr for a well-deserved lunch break. The day was filled with fun, as students bonded with each other and developed a deeper appreciation for nature. It was a memorable outing for all!

PHOTO HUNT CHALLENGE & BOWLING
Today, Tuesday 3rd December, we took the top 3 students of each House for an outing to Baystreet. It was an exciting day of fun and adventure. Students began with a thrilling photo hunt challenge, racing around the area to capture creative photos based on clues. Afterward, the group headed to the bowling alley for some friendly competition, enjoying strikes and spares while laughing and bonding. The bowling game and transport were graciously offered without charge by our headmaster, Mr. Riolo, making the day even more special. It was a memorable outing filled with teamwork, fun, and appreciation! We look forward to organising more fun and exciting outings!

During the midday break, the House Pumpkin Soup activity was a fun-filled and creative event where students and staff came together to showcase their culinary and artistic skills. Each house worked diligently to decorate their tables to impress the judges. The competition was fierce, with each table displaying unique themes and decorations, adding a festive touch to the event. 🇬🇧 Today, we came together to honor the boundless energy, creativity, and potential of children everywhere. It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and teamwork as our students participated in a vibrant kite activity. Watching the skies light up with kites of every house color was truly magical—a beautiful symbol of unity and the soaring aspirations of our children.

🇲🇹 Illum saru House Assemblies oħra biex inħeġġu lill-istudenti jipparteċipaw b’mod aktar attiv fl’attivitajiet tal-iskola, b’ħafna premjijiet jistennew lill-istudenti li jiksbu l-aktar punti! Qegħdin nippromwovu kompetizzjoni sana fost l-istudenti biex nirriflettu l-motto tal-iskola tagħna: Xejn Ħlief L-Aħjar!
