LEARNING SUPPORT ZONE

HOW IT WORKS
1. The LSZ follows students who have been referred by school staff through the School Administration. It involves observation, assessment and target setting through an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and in some case, an Individual Behaviour Plan (IBP).

2. The LSZ is committed to helping students better cope with their daily challenges. It should not be treated as a form of punishment, a means of segregation, a means of skiving lessons, or a quick route to exclusion.

3. The LSZ prepares programmes for students covering the following topics: Conflict Resolution, Anger Management, Friendships, Relationship skills, Indipendent Living Skills, Emotional Literacy, Circle Time, Anti-Bullying Programmes and more.

4. We have recently introduced Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) workshops to a group of teachers and LSEs. This is a whole school approach to discuss ways how to help and support students better in a collaborative way and to include SEL in our everyday life in our school community.
