🇬🇧 On Wednesday, 13th May, we had a visit from the rapper Claude Agius, known as “Il-Lapes.” The activity was held for all Year 9 students, during which “Il-Lapes” performed and interpreted the poem Ħitan tas-Sejjieħ by Marjanu Vella in a rap style. This is one of the poems that students need to study for the Maltese SEC examination.

During the activity, there was also a quiz about Maltese literature, the poem Ħitan tas-Sejjieħ by Marjanu Vella was read aloud, and some students also sang the chorus of the song.

The students participated enthusiastically throughout the activity, and we are certain that it will now be easier for them to remember this poem.

This activity was organised through a collaboration between the Maltese Department and the Maltese Language Centre as part of the “Mal-Melodija” project.

During the activity, two students — Luca Spiteri from 9.1 and Benjamin Abela from 10.1 — were also awarded as “Emerging Writers.” They were presented with a certificate and a book by Mr Stephan Borg, the Educational Officer for Maltese.
